I’m really excited to announce that the next book in the series, Every Parent’s Fear will be released at the end of August and is available to pre-order NOW! The series has mapped Toby’s life from birth. Time has moved on and he is now growing into a young adult. This brings unique challenges some of which he must face on his own as he discovers his own pathway through life.
As at 2023 the thalidomide survivors are now in their 60s. It’s easy for tragedies to become buried in the past and forgotten as if they don’t matter or have been overcome, but as we know, thalidomide, just like the current blood scandal or post office office scandal should not be swept under the carpet. In writing their story, I hope to keep this wonderful group of people’s story in our minds.
This book follows the group’s adventures, including the highs and lows and there are many amusing as well as sad and poignant moments along the way. As a group they ventured on holiday to Bexhill in East Sussex and then to Jersey. These were fun times providing shelter from stigma and lifelong friendships and relationships were formed, some ending in marriage.
